Swift Vs Roehl - I have really only. Haven't seen this kind of thread started yet. So just wondering which would be the better choice. Roehl pays $500 weekly while in school, but the contract is something like 18 mos. Contracts are ok as long as you're content with the company. Swift also has good training. My other choice is roehl, whom i havent heard anything good or bad. I am primarily interested in flatbed driving and i know tmc is strictly flatbed/lowboy and roehl has. Roehl sounds like a no brainer but. I have a few questions for anyone still working for roehl or swift. Roehl flatbed is cheap, garbage freight. You will only rarely see a smaller carrier or owner op hauling the same cargo. Roehl is german for cheap. Tarps are heavy, over patched. Both swift and roehl are very good companies. I've been a swiftie for just shy of 7 years. No regrets in my decision, and no plans to seek an alternative. You've got to ask. For roehl, its a total of $7,000, which is paid off by doing a total of 120k solo miles, regardless of how long that takes you. If you go ham and get it done in 10 months, then you're free to go. With roehl it is longer. I watched couple of roehl drivers' youtube videos. It seems roehl only do solo driving.
